Released in 1998 ‘Beatrice Alone’ stone lithograph – EA (French for Exemplar Artiste or Artist Proof.) EA of only 30. Stone lithography was the first printmaking medium to allow an artist to naturally ‘paint’ or ‘draw’ onto a flat stone to create an image. The basic process of lithography is as follows: artist paints/draws on stone with a greasy substance, the stone is moistened with water, oil-based ink is rolled onto the stone, a piece of paper is pressed onto the stone. This process can be repeated multiple times.
