Foxy by Nano Lopez is one of two fox sculptures he’s created. This piece stands well on her own or would be a shinning star in a collection of Nano pieces. She displays the artists signature organic and mechanical textures and is finished in his three part hot patina, heat treated process. First a liquid sulfur solution is applied to the raw bronze with a torch, heating the sculpture to seven hundred degrees. After the sculpture is cooled it is buffed out removing the majority of sulfur, leaving behind a darkened (aged) look to the crevices of the piece. The second step is a rich gold patina that covers the entire piece. The final step is the signature (secret) pigmented patina that highlights the stunning elements of each Nano sculpture.
Each of Nano Lopez’s creations is an incredible example of fine American bronze sculpture. His unusual technique of combining organic and mechanical objects into each piece delivers a truly fresh approach to bronze art. Nano’s sculptures are finished with a colorful patina that adds to their character and makes each one unique. Own a piece of Nano’s work and be a part of Nano Lopez history.
