This Vintage Multi Flora Vase by Charles Lotton is from my personal glass collection. This spectacular piece was created by Master glass artist Charles Lotton. He’s the father of glass artists David, John and Daniel, and grand father of Timothy, Jeremiah and Joshua Lotton. The Lotton glass dynasty has lasted over fifty years and continues to thrive. Each one-of-a-kind glass piece was hand crafted in their Illinois studio. This piece is forty years old and is signed Charles Lotton 1977. Originally his works sold for hundreds, today a seven inch vase from Charles are between $1,400.00 and $2,400.00. This piece measures 7.25″ tall and is 4.25″ wide. It is in mint condition with very little wear on it’s under side. Alone this piece is a treasure but light it from above or below with direct light and it’s stunning.
In 1973, Charles G. Lotton made a decision to leave a successful career as a cosmetologist to chase the his dream of becoming a successful glass artist. Little did he know that his decision would influence not only his children, but his childrens children.
In addition to the private collections of many serious collectors of art glass, his work can be found gracing the shelves of the Smithsonian Institue, the Corning Museum of Glass, the High Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. Lotton is the master artist in Tiffany style glass of the 21st century. Own this piece and be a part of the Lotton story.
